On the isle of Murano, our artisan Lorena uses the centuries-old tradition of lampworking to recreate the opulence of a pearl in this glass necklace. Each Murano glass ”pearl” is lampworked over a small flame, one at a time, and then hand-strung into three opulent strands. Lorena’s great-grandmother began working with glass at the age of nine. Since then, the torch has literally been passed from mother to daughter through three generations.
In a partnership where love, creativity and cultural traditions intersect, Barcelona-born Cristina and her Venetian husband Pierluigi create this exquisite handcrafted jewelry in the rich European tradition. In their workshop near the Rialto Bridge, each bead is lampworked one at a time and accented with gleaming precious metals. These glass pearl and crystal spring hoops require no holes in your ears, yet they are more comfortable than any clip earrings you’ve ever tried, and accented with delicate pave crystals.
