Cinco De Mayo is a commemoration of Mexico’s victory at the Battle At Puebla on May 5^th, 1862 during the Franco-Mexican war. Observing this victory in the USA became a popular tradition after Teddy Roosevelt’s “Good Neighbor Policy” in 1933, which encouraged Americans to form better relationships with Mexico and other Latin American countries. Today, Americans enjoy delicious Mexican food to celebrate this day, as well as indulge in delicious margaritas.
